WHAT IS STR VISION COL

STR VISION COL software has been created for the AEC (architectural, engineering, construction), Oil & Gas, Utilities and Local Government markets. The scope of the software is to spread the practice of compiling the Bill of Quantities on-line throughout the reference market.

With STR VISION COL you can load Bill of Quantities rows by directly downloading selected items from the Price Lists and Cost Estimates present in the program itself, allowing the subsequent input of quantities, multi-level management and printing. With the possibility to export created works in XML STANDARD SIX format STR VISION COL allows complete sharing and reprocessing of data in any other software compatible with this format, enabling improvement of communication between team members, hence work created with the software is not stand alone.

STR VISION COL is part of the defined cloud computing and applications, in particular, can be classified in the SaaS category.

What does application CLOUD COMPUTING?
In computing, the term cloud computing is a set of technologies that allow the use of hardware resources (storage, CPU) or distributed software remotely. Although the term is rather vague and seems to be used in different contexts with different meanings to each other, we can distinguish three main types of Cloud Computing:

• SaaS (Software as a Service) - is the use of programs in remote, often through a web server. This acronym agrees in part with the philosophy of a now disused term, ASP (application service provider).
• PaaS (Platform as a Service) - Similar to SaaS, but is not used in a single program the remote, but a software platform that can consist of various services, programs, libraries, etc..
• IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) - Use of hardware resources remotely. This type of cloud is almost a synonym for Grid Computing, but with one essential feature: the resources are used on request at a time when customers need them, are not assigned, regardless of their actual use.

A feature of the Cloud Computing is to make these resources available to the user as if they were implemented by systems (servers or personal devices) "standard". The actual implementation of resources is not defined in detail, and indeed the idea is just that the implementation is a heterogeneous and distributed resources whose characteristics are unknown to the user.
